Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is a major international airport in Utah serving Salt Lake City and its environs with over 2.5 million inhabitants. It is located 6.4 km (4 mi) from downtown Salt Lake City in the United States. The international airport’s first terminal was built in 1933. There are several flights to destinations worldwide. Natural History Museum of Utah
Natural History Museum of Utah is a fantastic museum detailing the natural history of the state of Utah. There are so many interactive exhibits, from minerals and metals on up to the flora and fauna, that make the museum an excellent educational centerpiece for any trip to Salt Lake City. Utah is one of the world’s richest areas for dinosaur-fossil discovery, and the museum’s impressive exhibits of skeletal giant dinosaurs from the past make it a must-stop.

Fisher Brewing Company
This is a former auto shop in the Granary District has been changed into an employee-owned, small-batch brewery that makes the freshest beer around. Fisher beer is sold exclusively out of the taproom. It is very enjoyable but you won’t find it in stores and there’s a regular rotation of food trucks out front.

Liberty Park
Liberty Park is known for its beautiful scenery in the form of wealthy greenery, indigenous flowers, and shady trees, many of which are hundreds of years old. Liberty Park has an impressive 80 acres of land which makes it the largest park in the Salt Lake City area. There is a huge range of activities here and you can go walking, hiking, or biking around the green slopes. There are a range of sports and recreation grounds such as basketball courts, volleyball nets, as well as a swimming pool.

Museum of Ancient Life
A family-friendly museum at Thanksgiving Point that houses one of the world’s largest displays of mounted dinosaurs. The hands-on exhibits are arranged chronologically and teach about fossils found all over the world. Kids can dig for their own bones, search for hidden gnomes within the exhibits as well as practice paleontology in a Saturday lab.

Salt Lake Tabernacle
The Salt Lake Tabernacle is one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. It was designed and built in a unique Mormon style. The stunning building was constructed between 1853 and 1893. The Tabernacle has three towers, the highest of which is at the east end and bears a 13-foot-high gilded figure of the angel Moroni.

This is the Place Heritage Park
One of the main features at the park is This Is The Place Monument. This is a huge sculpture created in 1947 that commemorated the 100th anniversary of the Mormons’ arrival in Salt Lake Valley. The park also includes the Old Deseret Village, a living history museum built to resemble a typical mid-19th-century Mormon community. The park has the history of the early pioneers and settlers to Utah in the mid-19th-century, but some of the fun things to do here include pony rides, train rides, and a splash pad called the Irrigation Station. You can even dig for gold at the Treasure House.

Joseph Smith Memorial Building
One of the key buildings in Temple Square is the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. That was constructed in 1911 and originally known as the Hotel Utah. It was renamed in honor of the first president of the Mormon Church. The building has 10 stories made with glazed terra-cotta bricks that shine in the strong Utah sun. Within the building, there are features such as marble columns, art glass, and the grand staircase. Interesting parts of the building include the Legacy Theater, conference rooms, the FamilySearch Center, and three restaurants, including one on the 10th floor called Rooftop, which offers exceptional views over Temple Square and the city.

Loveland Living Planet Aquarium
The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium is one of Utah’s most exciting and popular attractions. It is found in Draper, which is a 20 miles drive from Salt Lake City. The aquarium is an exhilarating collection of underwater species on display, including sharks, rays, seahorses, octopus, piranha, Gentoo penguins, and even a rescued Green sea turtle. It also features a huge shark tank with a walk-through tunnel, a four-story-high rainforest gallery, and a banquet room with a floor-to-ceiling window into the shark tank.

Transportation to/from airport
Taxi: Taxis can be called to the airport however, Lyft services are preferred in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area.
Train: The TRAX or light rail links the airport with the city and has a train leaving every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 20 minutes on weekends. The TRAX stop is located at the south end of Terminal 1. (more info).
Bus: There are several bus options to the city and back to the airport. (more info).
Shuttle: Passengers can arrange transportation from the airport with onsite shuttle and ground transportation companies located in the baggage claim areas of both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
