Jorge Chávez International Airport (IAH) is the major international and domestic airport found in Callao, Peru. It is located on the 11 km (7 mi) from the capital, Lima. The airport has had commercial flights since 1965. Peru’s capital, Lima is one of the largest cities in South America and is home to most of the beautiful ancient art and culture of the Inca.

Miraflores District

Miraflores has the best view of the Pacific ocean in a safe neighborhood. While taking a long enjoyable and memorable walk alone or with a loved one, you may have to make many stops at beautiful scenery like the Park of Love (Parque del Amor), El Beso, and a site where kissing contests and Valentine’s Day celebrations were held in the past. There’s a place for everyone in this district as surfers would love Costa Verde, animal lovers would have a thrill at Kennedy Park and so much more.

Time required: You’ll need a full day to experience the whole beauty of this district.

Museo Larco (Larco Museum)

Established in 1926, Museo Larcois where you can find the largest collection of Pre-Columbian erotic poetry and art. Even though it is privately owned, it is accessible by the public to an extent where tourists can view the storerooms where shelves are filled with more pottery. Possessing 5000 years of history, gold and jewelry used by ancient Peruvian rulers can be found here.

Time required: 2 to 3 hours to have a feel of what beauty the past holds.

Plaza De Armas

This is one of the most famous places in Lima that should not escape a tourist. Colonial architecture is such a way that it catches the eye of a passerby to stand and enjoy the view for a while. Plaza De Armas is one of such places as it was built by Francisco Pizarro to serve as Colonial South America’s capital.

Time required: 2 hours to explore this beautiful architecture.

Museo Pisco (Pisco Museum)

This is not your typical museum, it is actually partly a museum and partly bar. One can enjoy the scenery here and take a little or a lot of time at the bar here. You’ll love this! The artisanal cocktail bar pays homage to the rich heritage and history of Peru’s national liquor, traditional vineyards and pisco distilleries of Ica.

El Circuito De Mágico Del Agua (Magic Water Circuit)

This a wonderful place to be with the kids or a loved one considering the nature of the indulgent series of illuminated fountains and it magical appearance just as the name suggests. It looks stupendous and has the tendency to induce love in its own special way. Why don’t you pay a visit here and enjoy the view.

Time required: 2 hours should be enough.

Basilica and Convent of San Francisco

This is the Spanish name for Saint Francis Monastery at the south of Parque la Muralla and one square upper east from the Plaza Mayor. It gained even more recognition after it was added to UNESCO World Heritage List in 1991. It contains a library and tombs beside the congregation and cloister. Jude the Apostle is revered in this congregation. Take some quality time to satisfy your curiosity and urge for convent matters here.
