Guangzhou Baiyun Airport (CAN) is Guangzhou’s major airport and one of the busiest airports. It is located in the province of Guangdong in southern China at 28 km (17 mi) from the country center. This airport was established in 2004 and served as a nexus for nine different businesses. Night Cruise on Pearl River

The Pearl River, China’s third longest river, is made up of the Xi River, the Bei River, the Liuxi River, and the Dong River. They eventually meet in Guangzhou and form an appealing scene. Cruising on the Pearl River at night is unquestionably one of the nicest things to do in Guangzhou. The Haizhu Square, the famed Canton Tower, and many towering skyscrapers are well worth seeing. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall

Because of its historical significance, the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is one of Guangzhou’s must-see attractions. It was constructed in honor of China’s renowned revolutionary leader Sun Yat-sen. The Memorial Hall, which has witnessed many historical events, is currently a major location for huge gatherings and performances in Guangzhou. The main structure is a spectacular octagonal palace with Chinese architectural features. The introduction of Sun Yat-sen and his life experience can be seen in the hall. In addition, the yard contains the city’s oldest kapok tree and the two largest magnolia trees.

Hiking in White Cloud Mountain

White Cloud Mountain, the city’s most well-known mountain, provides excellent hiking opportunities. For the locals, spending a weekend there is one of the most enjoyable things to do in Guangzhou. It comprises more than 30 peaks, the highest of which is Moxing Ridge. Standing on the summit, you can take a breathtaking view of the entire city. White clouds can be seen drifting over the peaks, especially after rain, which is why it is known as White Cloud Mountain. There are 7 picturesque sites, with electric cars available in some of them if you become tired of hiking. Spring is the greatest time to visit the mountain.

Ancestral Temple of the Chen Family

The Chen Family Ancestral Temple is a must-see in Guangzhou, especially for history aficionados. The temple, erected in 1888, is still quite complete and was built to accommodate students from all over the empire who were taking part in the imperial test. Aside from the old building, several delicate sculptures are must-see sights. Wood carvings, stone carvings, brick carvings, and pottery sculptures will draw your attention. Furthermore, the vibrant paintings of various styles and features are worth looking at.

Guangdong Museum

It is worthwhile to spend your time visiting a museum that can teach you about the city’s culture and history. Tourists can visit the new Guangdong Museum, located close to Huacheng Square, to learn more about Guangzhou’s history and culture. The museum’s core exhibitions are Guangdong History and Culture and Guangdong Natural Resources, but it also holds a variety of temporary exhibitions.

Strolling in Yuexiu Park

One of the free activities in Guangzhou is strolling through Yuexiu Park. In addition to enjoying the untouched nature, visitors to Yuexiu Park can see the Five Rams Sculpture, one of the city’s most famous sculptures and a symbol of the city. The bright trees, peaceful lakes, and green mountains provide a relaxed atmosphere to spend your leisure time. After seeing the lovely scenes, you can go to the Guangzhou Museum and the old city wall in the park.

Shamian Island

The Shanmian Island, where you may enjoy an architectural tour, is one of the top sites to visit in Guangzhou. Statues, pavilions, wooden benches, and fountains line the streets. On the island, there are over 150 buildings in European styles, including 42 new baroque, pseudo-Gothic, and neo-classical structures and some buildings with Chinese and European elements. You may easily enjoy the foreign ambiance when strolling about there, and the stunning scenery will leave a lasting impact. Furthermore, several good bars may provide you with a vibrant nightlife.

Sacred Heart Cathedral

Sacred Heart Cathedral is a Catholic cathedral that took 25 years to build and was completed in 1888. It is one of only a handful of cathedrals made entirely of granite.
