Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) is an international airport located in the Sigtuna Municipality of Sweden. It is near the town of Märsta which is 37 km (23 mi) from Stockholm. The airport serves the cities and towns within Stockholm County and the province of Uppland. The airport was officially opened in 1962 and has since become a major gateway for international air travel. Stockholm is the cultural, media, political, and economic center of Sweden as well as the capital city. It is known for its modern designs, Scandinavian cuisine, Viking history, nature, and tourism.

Gamla Stan
Take a trip back to medieval times at the famous well-preserved former capital of Stockholm. Dating back to the 13th century, the center is where Stockholm was founded in 1252. It’s an environment full of attractions and historic sites that features restaurants, churches, cafés, museums, bars, and shops for handicrafts and souvenirs. The Nobel Prize Museum is found here. Best described to have the quality to pass for an outdoor museum, historically valuable and rich with colorful compact medieval buildings.

Vasa Museum
Centered around the 17th-century relic of a 64-gun warship called The Vasa, constructed under the reign of King Gustavus Adolphus, the 10-room exhibition features a display of the revived ship that sunk in 1628 and has been restored maintaining its original material and a collection of artifacts onboard that were also recovered when it was lifted to surface in 1961 which are included in the exhibition. Also featured is a multilingual documentary about the ship and its recovery from ruin.

Royal Palace
Tour the official residence and royal palace of the king of Sweden and the royal family. It holds over 600 rooms and five museums — Gustav III’s Museum of Antiquities, Museum Three Crowns, and The Treasury which houses a collection of highly precious coronation treasures presented to the King and Queen by the Archbishop and several alluring significant crowns are displayed here. The Museum Three Crowns is dedicated to the original palace building that was destroyed in a fire and exhibits a replica model of the original. Other highlights include the state bed-chamber of Gustav III’s, Oskar II’s writing room, and Queen Christina’s adorned silver throne in The Hall of State.

Fotografiska
An awesome space to discover contemporary photography collections that curate four unique annual exhibitions and 20 other small shows which guarantee a terrific experience. Works of famed photographers like Guy Bourdin and Irving Penn are featured in exhibits here. On the top floor of the gallery is the award-winning restaurant of Fotografiska, run by famous chef Paul Svensson with a menu that focuses on green seasonal dishes. The building also consists of an academy, bistro, café, bar, conference rooms, museum shop, gallery, and event spaces.

Grona Lund
Get into some fun at Sweden’s oldest amusement park, founded in 1883. The park is a popular venue for summer concerts where artists like ABBA, Paul McCartney, Bob Marley, Sting, and The Cardigans have all played. The park features 30 attractions with rides such as the Eclipse, Insane, Twister, Blue Train, Flying Carpet, and more amongst other kiddie rides. New roller coasters are introduced every few years. Some of the favorite rides to try are the upside-down ride ‘Insane’ and the Flying Carpet.

Norrmalm
A haven for fashion-oriented individuals to shop from its string of chain stores, malls, old-school department stores, and flagship stores for international brands. Here you’ll find fashion and design shops to source mainstream Swedish fashion. Simply referred to as ‘City’, it’s generally a cultural hub that features opera and ballet at the Royal Swedish Opera, art exhibitions and modern dance at and orchestral performances at the Stockholm Concert Hall.
Time required: 2 – 4 hours.

Take A Canal Trip For A Better View Of The City
Join an exciting guided boat sightseeing cruise through the city on its waterways starting at the City Hall and takes you around the Kungsholmen island and other historical buildings and landmarks of Stockholm — all of which’s history and background you’ll be provided with while on the tour from the foundation of its origin to current times.
