Palácio dos Arcos

One of Oscar Niemeyer’s finest works is the Palácio dos Arcos, better known as the Palácio Itamaraty, which houses the Foreign Ministry. A reflecting pool is surrounded by a long row of symmetrical arches, all of which were created by renowned Brazilian landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx. A semi-roofed patio with a garden surrounds the ornately designed interior. The spiraling freestanding staircase, which appears to be hanging in the air, is one of the interior highlights of the building, which is open to the public.

The National Library of Brasilia

The National Library of Brasilia is housed in a magnificent edifice that is also highly distinctive. When you first arrive here, you’ll note that the building’s outside features an easily recognizable egg-shaped construction. As soon as you enter the building, you will be able to see some fantastic temporary exhibits and a sizable collection of intriguing literature.

Monumento JK: President Kubitschek Memorial

The spectacular tribute to President Juscelino Kubitschek, the charismatic Brazilian leader who is regarded as the architect of Brasilia, is located on Praça do Cruzeiro. Many people rate Oscar Niemeyer’s design for the monument as one of his best. The monument houses interesting displays of the city Kubitschek imagined and saw through to completion, including early designs, construction pictures, and other documents that highlight Brasilia’s history. It also houses Kubitschek’s tomb and a museum dedicated to him.

Paranoa Lake

If you happen to be in Brasilia during a good period of time, you should not pass up the chance to see the renowned Paranoa Lake. The original Lake, which has a maximum depth of 30 meters and three tiny Islands inside, was built in the 19th century. Today, the lake is the ideal location for swimming, tanning, and engaging in a variety of water sports. Alternately, you may simply unwind and take in the unusual sunset in the late afternoon.

The Planetarium

The Planetarium is an engaging location for both adults and kids, giving guests the chance to view a variety of exhibitions on topics like the Big Bang and human evolution. In the planetarium, there is a projection film that explains the fundamentals of the origins of human life, and there is also contemporary astronomical equipment that you may admire and try using when the sky is filled with stars.

Banco do Brasil Cultural Center

The Banco do Brasil Cultural Center is a must-visit location for lovers of the Fine Arts in Brasilia and is host to stunning shows. Since its debut in 1993, the location has acted as a reference hub for a number of cultural shows, including both temporary exhibitions by local Brazilian artists as well as some permanent collections of artwork. Every once in a while, the Museum also hosts some amazing parties.

The Itemerary Palace

The building’s whole structure was constructed using local materials, and Brazilian artists’ works were used to decorate the space. Some of these well-known musicians include Rubem Valentim, Bruno Georgi, and Maria Martins. You can take a guided tour to learn some interesting information about the structure and to see some fantastic antique furniture, modern artworks, traditional sculptures, and iconic items.

Praça dos Tràs Poderes (Square of three Towers)

The administrative hub of Brasilia blends some of the city’s most prominent landmark structures and monuments into a breathtaking display of contemporary design. The Supremo Tribunal Federal (Supreme Court), the Congresso Nacional, and the Palácio do Planalto, the President’s official house, are all located around the Praça dos Tràs Poderes (Square of the Three Powers), which carries the moniker “Square of the Three Powers.”
